I have Seen that 90% of the time Merformers TFP Soundwave is either a Octopus or a Stingray. Hear me out.
Pelicaneel.
Something freaky from the depths, as misterious as he is! He may Lack the tentacles this way but the creature really fits him in my eyes. (pic below)

The Pancake man waved
[Wave back to be officially HIS kids]
@keferon i challenge you to recognize who is who X))
Also random headcanon I thought about while drawing :
One day Trailbreaker tasted vodka and got accidentally drunk and since this day other kids called him the alcoholic.
Soundwave is mute but his hearing is incredible.

Merformers who are absolutely lethal (not really tho but still a safety hazard) have my heart,
I am looking at you; lionfish Knockout, stingray smokescreen and jellyfish soundwave.
Them mers don’t understand why you seem so tense around them, not knowing that their species could fuck you up pretty heavy if you get stung by them
Your mer wouldn’t know about that underlying fear of yours if you don’t voice it to them, and instead will get depressed when they see how you always flinch from them with every sudden move they make,
Soundwave would be the first to take notice of your fear of his appendages when you’ve seen him sting many mers with them and make them struggle to swim away in a straight line from his venom,
While knockout would take him at least a weak to notice your fear and how unsettled you feel when you he is nuzzling into you and asking you to preen his luscious red scales for him and movie your hands away whenever he rolls over so that you can continue doing the other side, so that his spikes don’t accidentally come into contact with you,
Whilst smokescreen is oblivious to your discomfort and jumps onto you whenever you are on his line of sight, or any where near 100 meter radius of any body of water he can fit in, he would hold you on his arms as his tail flicks excitedly behind him as you try to move you legs away so he doesn’t sting you on accident, you would need to explain to him how the venom in his tail barbs will hurt you.
After giving your fish the talk they chirp (at least knockout and smokescreen do) with raised brows as they clap excitedly when assuring you that they will stop the venom function when they handle you.
It all goes well for a few weeks, until they are deep inside of you as they rail you on the Sand with their large claws holding you down gently, until they let you go at the sudden shriek of pain as you hold onto your leg as the stinging sensation burns harshly under the skin where they accidentally stung you when they were too busy plowing you back to stop the venom flow,
The real question is, how will you explain that to the doctors in the ER?

Rodimus is a new mer at the facility and is suffering from depression. He's always in his nest sleeping or just laying there barely eating. The workers are worried about him and no one can figure out what's going on. At the same time Soundwave is being transferred to the facility. He's very hostile and has attacked multiple humans. He's also looking for something or someone.
Mhm, *nods*
The moment they get Soundwave inside the facility Rodimus can smell him and perks up.
He starts shouting out the mating call and Soundwave reacts violently.
The staff thankfully have Ratchet on staff who knows that call because his mate Drift uses this call on him.
He’s immediately moving soundwave’s tank to rodimus’s and opens Rodimus’s hatch first and Soundwave pries his own off and climbs inside Rodimus’s tank.
The red mer was waiting with open arms and tail and soundwave crashed into him and started mating him right there, keeping a tight hold on him as he mate marked him over and over again.

A crossover between TFP and my "there by the oceanside" series AU because of mermay.
The family portaled into TFP along with a metal transformation, got separated, and picked by the warring factions because the Autobots and Decepticons were curiously over the new signals.
Fae!June and the kids are on the Nemesis. Mer!Soundwave got snatched by the Autobots.
The 'cons are getting creeped out by the new carrier and the two sparklings. They're starting to figure out that something is really off with the femme, especially when Insecticons go missing with scrambled coordination in her vicinity. Fae!June enjoys Soundwave’s vicinity and doesn't mind his silences. The kids, however, miss their papa.
Meanwhile, Mer!Soundwave is in hell. He hates the Nevada heat, so dry and scorching, and he wants his wife and kids back. The 'bots are so confused by this guy. He has no T-cog, no understanding of Neocybex, and no point of reference when it comes to polite Cybertronian society. But he's able to survive porking down raw Energon crystals, deal with the revived Predacon, and has a far greater ease navigating humans.
Any thoughts of a clone had died when someone needed to go poke the guy out of the cold hidey hole of the deep mountain fissures and was an absolute menace to drag back from Antarctica missions.

Pt.3 Apocalyptic Ponyo AU ft. Shockwave and his... kids. @keferon
For all they've been through together, this had to be the dumbest thing they've ever done- which is saying something, considering not too many months ago they collectively decided to raid the city's garbage dump not taking into account that a) there would be some kind of security system (who defends trash anyway? weirdos) b) the smell and c) the local population of possums they inevitably bothered.
All in all, that could have even been considered a good day in Skywarp's book- yeah, they didn't find anything, they all smelled pretty fucking terrible without any way of washing the stench away and they were covered in bite marks, hoping none of those things had rabies- but they laughed and joked about it for weeks after.
This situation, however, was anything but funny.
Following Blue's little stunt, the remaining children left at base were informed to meet at the nearest shore, where the youngest's new... friend? Still waited for them. A few minutes of shock and surprise from both parties after, they finally decided on how to fix whatever this was. The plan was simple too: separate Blue from the sea freak, gather all of their stuff and set off to the sparkly horizon, leaving all of this behind their backs- no strings attached.
Obviously that would've been too good to be true, something had to go wrong: of course their youngest still refused to leave, even when Damus finally gained some courage and went over to pick Blue up by force- too bad the little menace immediately started ugly sobbing. Not only that, the twins got over their fear pretty quickly, replacing it with the raw force of curiosity little kids have for anything ugly, sticky and new. Cue Soundwave being assigned as their official babysitter lest the two would sprint and try to climb the fish like a pair of coked-up squirrels. And, yeah, not the smoothest outcome but hey! Now they could, you know, leave.
He was so so wrong. As soon as the Thing noticed they were walking away it started  chirping at them over and over, like it was calling for them to get back. Kinda sad, but they could ignore it (unless you were Blue- still crying in TC's arms while making grabby hands at the mer), what alarmed them was the fact that it started to use all of its upper body strength and try to slowly beach itself in the goal of reaching their group. Needless to say the situation called for a new plan fast- even in ten, considering its size, they still weren't enough to push it back in to the water.
The solution was just to camp out on the shore and find a way out of this in the morning. To the absolute delight of their youngest, who decided that for the night he would be sleeping with the freak, and unsurprisingly the twins only followed by starting to poke and prod at the being, who seemed to enjoy the attention as much as them. Windcharger joined their little huddle too for the evening, explaining himself with a little shrug of his shoulders and a quick, "He's warm and I'm cold- you can freeze for one more night for all I care," and left it at that. That traitor.
Oh well, this would soon be over anyway.
\\\
Two. Weeks.
Two whole weeks passed since this whole charade was supposed to be over, but instead he found himself being ferried away on the wettest, most fucked up recreation of the 'Magic School Bus' he's ever seen.  Worst of all Ms. Fizzle was replaced by an oversize pancake with gills.
This was supposed to be the closest thing to a compromise: the kids got to keep their fish and the others got a free ride trough the apocalypse- pretty sweet if you asked him.
They were slowly making their way towards what was once the busiest side of the city: he remembers coming here with his brothers and getting overwhelmed every time by the sheer amount of people bustling around. Both locals and tourists blended perfectly in a vortex of voices, faces and mannerisms. For a boy who lived at the edge, this was exhilarating.
But the best part of this chaos were the shops windows: there was one who was squeezed between a tiny flea shop and a bakery owned by a couple of kind old people- the window's space was taken by a plethora of several vintage televisions, each of them displaying something different- his favorite old show was filmed at their local aquarium and had as protagonist a young orca mer, chirping away happily at the camera, while the crowd gasped in awe at the adorable display.
He saw his face stare right back at him from the surface of the water. Tired eyes, sunken cheeks and hair grown matted and way too long- what would he do to reverse it all and go back to their shitty daily life.
From the front of their unusual mean of transportation, he could hear the youngest kids screaming and laughing, more likely pestering the mer like a swarm of particularly persistent flies. Being too focused on eavesdropping the racket, he didn't notice Damus approaching him on unsteady feet.
"I saw a billboard a few minutes ago: big bright and with the directions to the biggest mall in the city- I'd say we are overdue for a scavenger hunt to restock our resources, what do you say?" The older asked, before staring off into the distance.
"Sure, why the hell not? I'm pretty sick and tired of eating only fish anyway- cheers to the big guy for catching it for us though." He absentmindedly patted the mer, earning a pleased rumble up ahead.
With a brief nod of assent, he took off to most likely talk to Skids- the teen, after a very intense game of charades, managed to establish a method to communicate with their newest addition, he was even successful in teaching the fishman some very simple words, and in turn the mer taught him some of his language: it was mainly made up of sounds and gestures but Skids, being the fast learner that he was, took to them pretty quickly- a shame that he never had the chance to attend a public school, he would've at the top of his classes for sure.
He felt the mass he was sitting on stir briefly, as the massive mer changed the course of their journey. The scenery around them slowly changed: hills of crumbled and deformed buildings gave way to a forest of skyscrapers looming over all of them like giant concrete pillars. Since the wave hit, putting a stop to all human activity, nature was steadily taking over- vines descended from a top of buildings, patches of seaweed and sea flora were dotting the submerged asphalted streets.
They watched in awe as schools of brilliant colored tropical fish darted past them- he heard Blue squeal along the lines of, "Sir. Pancake! Look, it's you!" when a familiar looking shark swam past them.  He could vaguely recognize some of the roads and alleyways, now nearly completely covered by corals and anemones, housing a variety of oceanic wildlife.
Despite everything, there was still beauty left in this abandoned world.
\\\
The dark gaping maw leading inside the mall stared right back at them. Having no way to access the lower levels, since they were long lost under the waves, they had to find another way in- one of the walls had luckily given away to the erosion of the water, leaving the perfect entry point for them and their fishy companion. They were all well aware the mer wasn't too keen on leaving them alone for too long without becoming restless, so this was a win-win situation.
As the shadows progressively engulfed them, the smell of dampness and mold welcomed them inside. He felt TC's hand grabbing his right sleeve to catch his attention, as he turned around he saw his brother pointing at the water with his mouth agape.
What he saw made him inhale quickly in complete surprise- a pool of neon blue light surrounded them from all sides, swaying gently at the rhythm of the mer's movements.
"...bioluminescent algae- read about them once, but I never thought I would ever see them for myself." He heard TC whisper softly at him.
"Woah, this is so fucking cool..." Soft murmurs of assent from his siblings filled the silence he left behind, as they all watched the water entranced by the spectacle of lights.
They were all suddenly woken up from their trance by a brisk movement from their means of transport that almost made all of them topple over into the water. Apparently 'Sides decided he wanted to touch the pretty blue lights, nearly taking a dip for himself if the mer didn't glance over and quickly caught the little kid with one of his huge webbed hands. At least the pest had the decency to look away sheepishly at the mer's silent but admonishing expression.
Without any other close calls, they made it to what was once the food court- a huge circular dome where the pavement had partially collapsed, leaving behind a slope where dry land and water could meet, the perfect place to finally get down and stretch their legs after hours of swimming around. Trailbreaker reached into his ridiculously big backpack and started passing around a bunch of flashlights- the teen liked to be prepared for anything, even if that meant bringing around some additional weight.
The moment his feet met the ground he let out a happy sigh- exploring the sunken city was great and all, but nothing could compare to the chance of finally burning all of his residual energy. Damus clapped his hands to get everyone's attention and started his usual spiel before any resource-gathering trip.
"Alright everyone, you know the drill: six of us are going in pair to explore the building- pick up only things you think will come in hand, leave everything else. Do not take more then you need, we are not the only survivors around, so let's not doom other people only because we felt a little bit greedy today. See something? Scream. Lastly, the brats stay here with Sir. Pancake, while one of us will also remain to keep watch- can I have a drum roll for our lucky winner?" The question was met with an enthusiastic chorus of voices.
"Aand- Trailbreaker you're up!"
"Awh man- what?" The teen sagged his shoulders as Windcharger smugly patted his arm.
"Look at the bright side dude: you'll have fish-dad helping you this time."
"Not helpin' Charger, kudos for trying though..." Trailbreaker's muffled response came from behind his hands, as the other kid only shrugged and joined Skids to prepare for departure.
In the meantime, Skywarp gingerly hooked his right arm with TC's, leading him towards one of the halls connected to the dome.  From the ceiling stray cables and crumbled pieces of drywall dangled freely, occasionally disturbed by a gentle breeze coming from inside the hallway. He gave himself a few seconds to glance behind his back: the children, in the few minutes they arrived, had apparently started their very own game of tag, skidding away on the wet floor, completely unbothered by what was happening around them. Trailbreaker, accepting his fate, decided to use this time to clean the barrel of his shotgun, while sitting on the floor with his back leaning on the mer's arm.
The creature however was looking apprehensively at them: worry and fret swirled in his blue eyes- they all knew he didn't like to see them leave, but this was necessary. He absentmindedly threw him his best calming smile, hoping to reassure him enough. The mer was briefly taken by surprise before nodding and giving Skywarp a hasty nod.
 'I trust you.'
"Good luck everyone! If you're not back in an hour we'll come find your sorry asses, so be on time- I'm talking to you Skids!" Damus voice bounced on the walls of the abandoned building.
"...you get lost one time-" The cut-off whispered replay of his sibling was the last thing he heard before entering the hall with TC in tow.
\\\
Their wet footfalls was the only noise filling in the utter silence around them.
The bright beams of their flashlights cutting through the thick wall of darkness. Now that he had the chance to look at it up close, he could pinpoint exactly when life had come to a stop between these molded walls: on tiny cafe tables sat long forgotten coffee stained cups, the occasional eerily empty stroller was abandoned haphazardly in the middle of the hallway, still pale mannequins were silent witnesses to the disaster, while purses and toys littered the floors. Moments frozen in time.
He felt himself shudder, trying to shake off the feeling of wrongness from his shoulders.
So far they found only a couple of useful things, mainly industrial tape, iron wire and other items from a hardware store they had just raided. All the possibly edible things they dug up have all been either completely or partially covered in mold- all of this moisture made it difficult for things to stay fresh, especially since electricity had been one of the first things they'd lost to the massive wave, completely cutting off all of power to fridges.
Hopefully the others had been more lucky, he really wasn't looking forward to another overcooked sardine- none of them had always been the greatest cook after all and he doubted Sir. Pancake knew his way around a stove. Great now he was thinking about the mer holding a comically small pan, while wearing a pink frilly apron with the words 'Kiss The Fish' printed on the front-
He was interrupted mid-giggle by TC's pointy elbow digging into his side- which he was about to comment on before his brother nudged him again, signaling with his light to something on the wall.
"Storage Room." Read his sibling aloud, with a knowing smile.
"Fucking jackpot, baby!" Skywarp blurred out- ooh the joy he'll feel when they'll be able to shove in their losers sibling faces a box full of protein bars.
A wide new hallway opened up for them, at the end of it he could discern the top of a pair of rusted shut down automatic stairs. They eagerly hurried down them, impatience and hunger for discovery was eating away at them- before diving waist deep into a pool of freezing water.
They both startled for a few seconds, and then realization hit. They both forgot the lower levels were entirely flooded, but thankfully water didn't seem too high from what they could see through the darkness- hopefully the floor was built on the same level and didn't suddenly dip under them. The water was way too murky to see what was happening under the surface, and that did nothing to appease the apprehension this place was giving off in waves- he suddenly felt the shivers he shrugged off return in full force.
"Thunders, not gonna lie, I have a bad feeling about this." His whisper echoed on the walls enclosing them.
"Yeah... I feel like there's something we're missing." The other confessed, as they slowly trudged forward. "It's been scratching my brain since we passed that cafè...".
"Right?! I feel the same... all that chaos and we only find a bunch of litter on the floor-"
Thundercracker stopped abruptly in his path, making him stop too.
"Uh- TC, you okay?" He lifted his torch to better look at his brother.
"...the corpses."
"Oh! Yeah, this was a very busy place, how come we haven't found... any... corpses..."
One of the worst mistakes humanity ever made, was to think that they had any chance at being on top of the food chain. Centuries of time spent spreading and conquering all known continents, had led them to believe that nothing could touch them if they hid behind their big wars and even bigger weapons. However, Hubris is the first deadly sin, condemned to be a human's last.
From the void, a pair of bulging white eyes stared back at him. A gaping maw full of jagged yellowed teeth, was framed by two lines of receding gums barely attached to the skull. Ivory white plaques covered a shiny metal body underneath, decorating a lizard-like muscular frame, still as stone- like a spring ready to be released.
They were moving even before his brain could catch up with him. Fight or flight on full force- his main goal was to get away and do it fast.
Thundercracker quickly followed him, as he felt the large creature pounce towards them.
Climbing the stairs and reaching the top almost slipping down and falling on his brother.
They sprinted down the hall- heavy footsteps never too far behind as the beast snapped his monstrous jaws, trying to catch them.
Blurs of the coffee shop and hardware store passed next to them, as realization hit him once more- they were bringing a human-eating mutant right to their little brothers.
'See something? Scream.'
And screaming he did.
His alarmed voice filled the dome as in a moment of distraction his foot slipped on a nearby puddle, leaving him to fall face first unto the hard ground- hopefully his little siblings where not stupid enough to try and come help him.
He knew this was coming.
A hot breeze hit the back of his head, as the stench of death reached his nostrils. The heavy weight of a massive clawed paw, pressed him flat on the floor, painfully crushing his chest. He wanted to say he had been brave enough to face his fate, but instead he hid his face inside the crook of his elbow, heaving a last breath verging on a whimper- he only wanted to help his family, and this is how he died, it felt a bit like deja-vu...
Too busy giving thought to his adrenaline infused rants, he didn't immediately feel the crushing weight being suddenly lifted off of him- a giant wall of muscle and pure unbridled fury, tackled the beast into the other side of the room. A low guttural threatening growl woke him up from his stupor and he was on his feet in seconds- the now enraged mer stood between Skywarp and the monster.
The teen almost didn't recognize him, a completely mirrored image of the usually peaceful creature- what was once a beacon of gentleness, who always moved like he knew he could easily hurt any of them, oh so very careful of his size and strength- now gave away to a terrifying predator, claws and fangs fully on display and ready to use.
The mutant pounced once again, now his attention taken solely by the mer, who in tow used his massive tail to spring forward and grab the monster by the tail- hastily pulling it towards the water where he could've a clear advantage.
Too focused on the feral brawl, he didn't hear Damus' muffled voice calling him through the static ringing in his ears.
"-warp, we need to move! Shit, Skywarp move your ass, goddamnit!" A hand forcefully grabbed his left arm, before he was pulled to his unsteady feet. The front of his shirt was snatched and he felt himself move and duck behind a nearby counter- his eyes never leaving the fight.
If this thing was anything else, now it would be long dead- but unfortunately genetics were on its side. The ivory armor covering its body made for an impenetrable defense- meaning, it was not only built to hunt things smaller than itself, but also to wear out bigger predators and use twist their tiredness on them to deal the final blow.
"...he's not going to make it."
"Uh? What are you talking ab-?"
"He'll lose- WE HAVE TO HELP HIM!"
A still out-of-breath Thundercracker slowly approached him with his hands held up, like he was placating a wild animal and not his own brother.
"Warp, please be reasonable- What chance do we have against that thing? Bullets will not work and we can't risk hitting our only ally against it, we shou-"
"What? Run? I'm not going to save my ass while someone else is going to die- you're not making me give him the Smokey treatment, no chance in hell."
Only the sound of the background fight remained, as a mournful silence descended upon them. That name was bound to stir flashes of awful memories in all of them- the darkest times since the beginning of their broken little family. Their missing piece, forever lost.
"...what's the plan?" The trembling voice of their youngest broke the silence.
Skywarp drew in a ragged breath as he blurred out their only chance for all of them to get out of this alive.
"Metal! The- that thing's body is made of metal underneath, if we can find a way to electrocute it, its own body is going to act as a super-conduct and fry it's organs from the inside out."
"Me and 'Charger found a small generator not too far from here, I think we can use it," Skid's chimed in from the back of their little huddle, "we attach some cables on it and pinch that thing- than boom fried fish."
With a plan in mind they all moved like a bunch of frenzied rats. Windcharger and Skids ran to fetch the generator, while Soundwave followed them in case they needed to jump-start it. The kids were ordered to stay put and not engage, as the others watched the fight, waiting for their time to strike.
But as they took in every detail of what was happening, it was clear they had run out of time. The mer was clearly using the last of his energies to just keep the thing still- deep bleeding wounds littered his frame, one of his eyes was closed off by a cut that run at the center of his face, as he gasped for breath- eye dazed and a shaky pupil stared at his enemy.
He registered his siblings returning with the small generator, but he was quick to snatch the cables attached to it from Soundwaves' hands.
"We don't have time- I'm going to do something crazy, but it'll be fine!" He cried out, ignoring his siblings' shouted protests- metal was not the only super-conduct present in the dome.
As he skidded to a stop and knelt near the water, he felt time slow down. He watched as the mutant freed itself and in a few seconds snapped its mouth on the mer's side, trying to rip off a large chunk of meat. The mer let out a haunting pain-filled cry, as he desperately used his last energies to claw at the mutants' skull, in hopes of getting it to let go.
Skywarp had to act now.
Before he plucked the sparkling cables into the pool, he glanced once more not expecting to lock eye with the blue one of the mer- illuminated by the blue hue of the algae, covered in gaping wounds and suffering immense pain, was smiling at him- one of those familial calming smiles that he became used to on a daily basis, since their crazy companionship began.
'I trust you.'
Those same eyes that were looking at him with only fondness, suddenly became bloodshot as an immense wave of energy traveled through his frame in a matter of seconds. Skywarp felt his, now free, hands tremble with adrenaline as they all watched their guardian being electrocuted- and with him the beast.
What had been merely moments, felt like hours.
They won.
The limp body of the beast slowly sunk into the depths dragged by it's own heavy body, as the victor stood tall in the middle of the dome. Water fell from his broad back in droplets, a deep purple hue cloaked him from underneath- the algae, who soon changed color after being hit by the wave of electricity. The mer red blood-shot eye never left his gaze as he held the other half of his face, covering his wounded eye with a clawed hand.
Skywarp and his brothers watched as their guardian's form eventually staggered and swayed, until his worn body hit the shore with a shuddering thud. A keening sound left the mer's mouth as his body convulsed a couple of times, before finally settling into a fetal position.
A small blur rounded the counter he left behind his shoulders- Blue sprinted towards the now still body of the mer, halting himself near his head before hugging it as best as he could.
"Get up... please, you have to get up- I don't want to leave you here," A sob escaped the little kid as he gently pushed at the mer's cheek, "please Sir.Panca- Dad, get up..."
Slowly they all began to huddle around the still-breathing, even if ragged, body of their guardian- the mer shuddered as he gently lifted his head to nudge soothingly at his youngest. He looked over all of them, as if to assure himself that nobody was injured, until he locked eyes with Skywarp once again. The mer cooed, lifting his hand to beckon him to come closer.
The teen got up on unsteady legs and made his way toward his guardian, collapsing into the crook of his massive neck. As a clawed hand started caressing his back, he found it so difficult to hold in his tears.
"I'm sorry- this is all my fault," he wailed, "and now you're hurt and- and I did this to you... when you've been nothing but gentle and patient with us from the beginning... some fucking friend I am."
"...hurt?" He was taken by surprise as the mer spoke to him- a thick warped accented voice.
"What? No, you big dummie- I'm not hurt..."
His guardian had the gull to smile down at him- the huge fucking sap. He couldn't help but smile in tow as he felt Bluestreak join their little hug, and settle himself down to nap away the residual adrenaline.
He watched as his siblings sat all around them- weapons in hand, standing on guard and silently daring anything or anyone to attack their guardian.
Yeah, he was not ready for this to end just yet.

Still in the hospital but bored af so here's Part Two of fish dad
PART 2 of A Family can be A Fish and his Foster Kids
—-
Trailbreaker watched the mer approach their dock of concrete and broken cars, long tan body cutting through the water like butter. Soundwave held his hand tightly, Ravage curled around his shoulders. The twins and Windcharger were pressed against Trailbreaker’s back, the twins holding onto an arm each, Wrap on his left and TC on his right. Buster, TC’s service dog for his seizures, stood in front of his boy. Damus held Soundwave’s other hand in a vice grip, the cloths around his mangled hands dripping slightly, Skids behind him holding onto his shoulders.
The mer seemed to take them all in, large inhuman blue eyes tracking over one child to the next. It didn't make any more movement, except to lift it's torso out of the water.
Trailbreaker tensed as the mer revealed its true height, torso alone bigger than any human man. He took a half-step back, placing himself a little more firmly in front of the twins.
“He's so cool.” TC whispered softly, voice shattering the tense silence. Soundwave flinched back at the sound, his hat nearly falling off as the red glasses he used for his migraines fell a little off his nose.
“Dude!” Windcharger snapped, glaring at the other boy.
“It's true!” Warp said, voice raising in defense of his brother, his need to defend his twin overriding his fear.
And, in Trailbreaker’s opinion, his Goddamn Common Sense.
“Do…” Skids spoke up, running his hands over Damus’s wet hair nervously. "Do ye think th’ bloke’s friendly?” He asked, looking at Soundwave. “Th’ mers at th’ ‘quarium didn’ seem so bad, y’know. Not ta us kids.”
“Those were orcas.” Soundwave said slowly, squinting at the mer in front of them, still quietly watching the group of boys. "And trained to perform. We have no idea how this one will act.”
There was a moment of silence, before Thundercracker let go of Trailbreaker's arm and took a step forward, Buster by his side.
“I'm gonna go say hi.”
Trailbreaker made a move to grab TC’s shirt, fingers falling short as his brothers who were still holding onto him pulled him back.
“Wait, TC, no-” He called, only to be cut off by Ravage’s fur in his face, the cat having jumped off of Soundwave’s shoulders to follow the boy and dog.
Soundwave made a noise Trailbreaker never wanted to hear again but didn't move, all of them watching as TC walked up to the mer, dog and cat right next to him. Trailbreaker felt like he was going to pass out, heart pounding in his head.
“Hi!” Thundercracker said brightly, one hand on Buster’s head, the other held out as if the goddamn fish was going to SHAKE IT. Ravage wound herself around TC’s legs, sitting down on his feet like she could prevent the boy from moving any further.
Warp was trembling in Trailbreaker’s arms, barely held back from going to tackle his twin and bring him back to the group. Trailbreaker felt like Soundwave’s hand and Windcharger’s grip on his OWN shirt were the only things preventing him from grabbing the kid. (And maybe strangling him a little. He'd deserve it. Warp would have to understand)
A huge hand lifted out of the water, clawed and tan and big enough to crush TC like a fucking twig. The middle schooler didn't even flinch, keeping his own hand held out steady.
Trailbreaker practically felt Soundwave deflate as the mer gently shook Thundercracker’s tiny hand in its own much MUCH larger one.
“Guys, see?" Thundercracker said with a grin, wiping his hand off on his shirt, though that didn't help much. “He's nice!”
The mer looked back at their group, dipping lower into the water and smiling up at them.
“That's great, kid.” Trailbreaker said softly, trying to mentally teleport Thundercracker back to his side. “Can um- can you come back now?” He asked, trying to ignore how his voice cracked.
Ravage meowed loudly and jumped onto the mers head, provoking something that sounded suspiciously like a chirp from the fish itself. Soundwave’s cat, notorious for hating anybody and everybody except for Soundwave himself, settled into a loaf.
Soundwave let go of Trailbreaker’s hand to adjust his hat and glasses, sniffed once, and took a step forward, beginning to walk towards the fish with Skids and Damus in town.
“Ravage likes him.” He said simply in response to Trailbreaker's utter look of fear.
Trailbreaker took a breath, acknowledged that level of logic, and pulled Skywarp and Windcharger forward.
If nothing else, he could make sure the fish ate him FIRST, if it turned out they were wrong.

merformer decepticons!!!!
my last post really got my thinking… my lord.
I imagine the island you crash on is in the middle of Autobot and Decepticon territory, with one half being Autobot and the other Decepticon. Because of this, you see both often. At first, the Decepticon’s may try to kill/injure you, but will slowly warm up to you. Autobots are more gentle and are nice off the bat, so you may favor them more. try not to favor one side too much, however, as this may cause more fighting than normal once they realize they like you and you favor one side, especially if it’s the decepticon’s and they find out you like the autobots better.. Megatron will probably bite you all over to try and mark you as his territory (he gets Knockout to fix you up later, so the wounds are properly tended to and won’t get infected). Fighting may also occure among the Decepticon’s if they find out someone is also trying to mate with you, so expect Starscream to come to you more often and whine about having to fight another Decepticon because they also wanted to mate with you.
On the topic of Starscream, he’s the more whiny and “tsundere” of the bunch, at first claiming he “hates that pathetic humans guts”, but he’s quick to switch up in private.
Megatron himself also is one to bring you prey, both so you don’t die and also to court you. If he’s an orca mer, he’ll bring whales he killed to you, but reluctantly stops when you tell him that he’s making them become endangered. leopard seal megatron will also do this, but he won’t bring you whales since he’s a bit too small to drag them around. he will even sometimes bring you limbs of enemies he defeated. look! he brought you the head of an autobot! aren’t you proud of him? isn’t he such a good potential mate for you? wait, why are you screaming and crying?
soundwave… oh my soundwave.. <3 (ill focus on tfp soundwave for now bc i love him sm). he at first seems cold, distant, and uninterested, but slowly warms up to you. he’ll often bring you crabs and cracked open oysters to eat, since you can’t eat the shell like he can (pros of having metal teeth ig?). he’ll also bring you pearls if he finds one in the prey he was eating.
shockwave starts out like soundwave, and takes much longer to warm up due to his surpressed/lack of emotions. it first starts out as genuine curiosity of humans and your anatomy, and slowly blooms into an obsession. he’s careful not to sting you, and is both weirded out and amazed at how humans deal with jellyfish stings. he also will bring you things, though it’s always something you currently need. need some sticks for whatever reason? shockwave brought you some driftwood. need more fish because some mers took the ones in your fishing nets before you got to them? shockwave brought you some fish to eat (he likes to stick around and watch you cook them, he’s fascinated by fire and how you use it) and he also punished stung those mers who stole from you! you might also be confused as when you see him, he appears to be.. dancing?
ohhhh knockout my drama queen.. he’s a bit more familiar with humans, so he is not as grossed out by how you function like some (cough starscream cough), but he still has his.. nitpicks. he also is fascinated by fire, but learns immediately afterwards to not touch it after it burns him and “ruins” his paint job, leaving you with a very whiny decepticon mer to comfort. he will also do dances/performances in the water for you!! he’ll do flips as he jumps out of the water and flaring out his fins (as a lionfish) whenever he sees you, knowing it would fascinate and captivate you!

Seek and Destroy Pt 3
Mer!Megatron x Reader
Skin prickling as goosebumps spread in a flush along your arms, you know he’s out there. Can feel it in your bones in a breathless mix of anticipation and fear. And you have no idea why you’re out here. Maybe you’re like those horror movie heroines you like to laugh at, too stupid to live. Drawn in by a weird sound in the basement and walking right toward the monster.
You keep remembering how he’d smelled, electric like a storm on the ocean. Searching the waves, you slide a fingertip against the impossibly healed, pink line on your palm and you remember the weight of him pinning you. The heat of his body and the coldness of the wet sand under you. Those sharp teeth and his low, guttural snarling. That he could have hurt you badly and hadn’t. So why are you out here tempting fate? Looking for danger.
It’s funny. In stories, mermaids are supposed to be pretty, but he wasn’t. Scarred and angry, a predator raging against death. You think of those sharp teeth, those luminous red eyes staring down at you as he’d loomed over you. Knowing he was going to rip your throat out, drag you under. You’d been certain of it looking into those eyes. He’d hated you. But he’d still let you live, hadn’t harmed you. So why? And why are you looking for him?
Claws dug into the sandy bottom as the warm currents push and pull at him, his tail flicks to toss up sand and send small fish darting away in a silvery cloud. Keeps thinking of the two legged monster that cut him loose. The acrid stink of your fear as you’d tried to help him. Trying to understand how your kind are apex predators, because you? Too soft and trusting. No claws or fangs. You’d been helpless. Rolling in the sand, he partially buries himself and tries not to think of how unexpectedly soft you’d been or the soft sound of your frightened chirping.
Feels the shift before the pulse washes over him and the webbed spines along his back lift slightly. Watching the first shape sail past where he’s resting, delicate crimson fins flared slightly as the seeker rolls upside down as he passes over him. How had they found him again? Ignoring Starscream trying to provoke him, his tail flicks watching the other two approaching more cautiously. The last of his hunting party. The other three survivors who’d failed the ones counting on them. And while Starscream wants to blame him, he knows Soundwave and Shockwave feel the burden of that guilt. Even if it was all his fault. His decision that cost them everything. Their futures.
“No,” he growls, reluctantly stirring from the sand and swimming away. And not at all surprised when they follow him. How many times does he need to run them off? Why do they keep coming back for him?
“Abandoning us, too?” Starscream snarls, sharp fins flaring as he cuts him off. “Like you abandoned our mates and young?”
And those words hurt because those deaths are his fault. So why can’t they leave him to his misery? Let him die trying to bring as many of those things down with him as he can. “We could stop them once and for all together,” Shockwave says and Megatron refuses to swim faster. To run from them. His brothers.
Realizing too late that he’s angling toward the shore. Homing in unconsciously on where he’d found you and he snarls changing directions. What does he care about soft, two legged creatures with pretty voices? “There’s no stopping them. Only death.” His death. And he didn’t need distractions. Doesn’t need them or you.
Fins bristling when Soundwave brushes against him, his oldest friend. Tendrils drifting behind him, Soundwave rolls to circle him. “Agreed,” Soundwave growls and Megatron flicks his tail. Doesn’t want their help. Or to be responsible for more death. Why haven’t they moved on? Found new pods, a new home, and started over? Maybe they can’t, just like he can’t. Grieving like he’s grieving, but this isn’t their duty. He led them hunting, left their home vulnerable thinking the younger males could protect the others. He’d been wrong.

What kind of sea creatures would the autobots and decepticons be?
Hehe I'm gonna get so unoriginal with these
I picked Mers species based on vibes, not size. Also, don’t take this as a finalized version, just some loose ideas. I’ll probably change my mind in, like, half an hour lmao
Optimus – Classic choice: blue whale. Friendly and gentle towards humans. Also highly emotionally and socially developed. imo, it fits him perfectly.
Ratchet – My heart wants to say clownfish, but maybe a sea lion or a walrus? They do look kinda grumpy
Arcee – Sea otter. Small, looks cute, but feisty and can be aggressive.
Smokescreen/Bumblebee – Sea puppies <3
Tumblr media
Bulkhead – Manatee/sea turtle.
Megatron – He’s usually depicted as a shark, but hear me out… leopard seal. Mostly because those bastards are terrifying, aggressive, and vicious. Plus, they’re apex predators.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sheesh…
Starscream/Seekers – Sailfish, mainly because of their slender build and the fact that they’re the fastest fish in the world
Tumblr media
Soundwave – Hmmm, depends on the continuity. TFP Soundwave is doomed to be an actopus because of his tentacles, and the rest could be stingrays?
Shockwave – Jellyfish
Knockout – Lionfish. Beautiful, but touching him won’t end well.

The loud calls from the ocean had many of the mers excited and calling back, it was the migrating pods, excitement filled everyone as they swam. Windblade was swift towards Chromia who is very clearly pregnant, pulling her mate into a hug, her fins flared with joy. "Chromia! Look at you  radiant as ever, I've missed you so much. And the little one, they have survived oh how they've grown!" Windblade trills, her webbed hands gently caressing Chromia's swollen abdomen.
Chromia clicks and warbles happily, nuzzling against her mate. "Yes, the tides have been kind. Soon, we will welcome a new pup into our pod." Ironhide isn't far behind pulling Chromia into a hug too, excited to see her just as much as Windblade was. “We have misses you, sorry we couldn't follow the pod”
Kup gave a small nod to Rodimus, drifting alongside the arriving pods, his fins flicking in greeting. the younger mech's called out eagerly just happy to see the older mer. "Steady, lad. No need to get yourself all worked up." Kup's gruff voice carries a note of fond amusement. "The migration's been good to us."
Ultra Magnus drifted slowly with many of the others. Making sure the smaller members of the pod could use the wading of his frame to swim closer so that they didn't waste as much energy.  He keeps a watchful eye on the younger Oceanides.
The migration has brought a surge of energy and life to the shores. Oceanides from near and far converge, their trills and clicks filling the water with the song of renewal. Full excitement takes over as Soundwave checks on Tarn excited to see his youngling who had grown so much over the years.
Tarn calls out slowly but lets his carrier check him. " The hunting has been good, and the tides they've been kind to our pod." He explains just enjoying being back with his own small group of mers. Soundwave rumbles softly, his large fins gently caressing Tarn's frame. "I'm glad. You have grown." Tarn preens under his carrier's praise.
Starscream mingled with the other flying fish mers seeing their own now adult pups. As he and Sunstreaker fussed over Sunstorm. "My youngling, look at you! Primus, you've grown so much. Look at you! And those fins - simply magnificent. You're going to have the whole pod chasing after you, you know." Starscream preens Sunstorm's scales with quick, deft movements.
Sunstreaker swims up, his field brimming with affection. "Leave the poor thing alone, Screamer. Let him breathe!" He nudges Starscream playfully, earning an indignant huff from the older mech. Sunstorm chirps happily, nuzzling between his sires. "I've missed you both so much. The pods have stuck together, we have had minimal losses, the ocean has been kind to us this time."
Starscream's field softens, his sharp edges melting away. "Yes, yes, we're all very proud of you. Now, have you been keeping an eye on any potential mates?" The three fall into a familiar, playful banter, the migration's excitement had nearly the whole beach swarming with Oceanides.
Elita swims proudly as she sees the pods, but her eyes land on Optimus who is back away from the group with Bumblebee clinging tightly to him in worry, the yearling pup's eyes darted around anxiously. Relief washes over Elita the moment she sees Optimus and Bumblebee, knowing that he had survived, the little pup that so many had been worried about had survived and he looked healthier than ever. But concern fills her when she doesn't see Bumblebee's carrier.
"Where's the carrier?" He mumbles softly, not upset but just a little grumpy at not having his human carrier while everyone greets the migration. Bumblebee seems much stronger than the very sickly pup that everyone feared for after his carrier's demise.
Elita swims up to Optimus, she was so relieved to see them. "Optimus! It's been too long. And little Bumblebee, look at you, all grown up!" The young pup clings tightly to Optimus, his eyes darting about nervously. "Where's Bubba? I want Bubba."
Optimus rumbles soothingly, his large frame shielding the youngling. "Easy, Bumblebee. Your Bubba is safe, I promise. They will be here soon." He explains to his pup, but a soft smile breaks across his face seeing Elita. “It has been a long orn my friend,” he says while pulling her into a gentle hug. Both their fins flicking in greeting.
Elita's brows furrow in worry. " Has something happened? And where is...?" She trails off, the unspoken question hanging between them. Optimus's eyes drop with a deep, profound grief. "...she's gone. The tides were unkind, and I..." His voice wavers, the pain still raw after all this time.
Bumblebee's eyes go wide, sensing his sire's distress. Elita surges forward, enveloping Optimus in a tight embrace. "Oh, Optimus. I'm so sorry. I had no idea..." "It's been difficult," Optimus murmurs, his frame trembling slightly. "But the humans  they've been a blessing. They've cared for Bumblebee as their own. They are the only reason he lives"
Elita's eyes widen in surprise. "A human? Caring for one of our young?" She glances over to where Bumblebee clings to Optimus, the pup's chittering and looking to the sore as if trying to find something. "It's a long story," Optimus admits. "But the human has become part of our pod. Bumblebee sees them as his carrier."
Alita nods slowly, she hadn't expected that, of all things a human had taken Bumblebee in as their own, it was almost unheard of. "I see. Forgive me, just a lot to take in. I'm just glad your pup survived,  I know how erratic you were when he was born " She offers the pup a gentle smile, her webbed hand reaching out to affectionately ruffle his fins. “I'm so happy to see you sweet little bee”
Bumblebee leans into the touch, some of the tension easing from his small frame. Optimus's shoulders visibly relax. The migration celebration continues around them. Arcee swims up her fins, flicking excitedly. "Elita! Did you hear the news? Bluestreak has taken a human mate! Can you believe it?"
Elita-One trills in surprise. "A human? Bonding with one of our own? That is certainly...unexpected." Nearby, Ratchet grumbles as he tends to a youngling's injured fin. "Crazy younglings, always causing trouble. As if we don't have enough to worry about with the migration and all."
Ironhide rumbles in agreement, his massive frame dwarfing the smaller Oceanides around him. "Eh, let 'em learn the hard way. Bluestreak should've known better than to go sniffin' around Prime’s human."
Wheeljack swims up, his field alight with scientific curiosity. "Fascinating! I wonder how they communicate, how the, uh, mating process works. We should study this development further! It could give us valuable information on cross species relationships, imagine the possibility "
Jazz darts between the gossiping pods, " primus Jackie ya been here less then a cycle and already tryin to examine em!, plus dont been Prowler trying to rip our pups gills off, the past few cycles have been tense enough "
Perceptor looks over in curiosity, his eyes gleaming with interest. "A human? The integration of a human into our society will undoubtedly present new challenges and opportunities. Perhaps Wheeljack isn't wrong in wanting to observe."
Megatron's ever imposing figure, rumbles a warning. "I wouldn't recommend it, they are not like us and prefer to keep those matters private" he states while passing by to greet more of his own pod. The chatter and debates swirl around, the Oceanides abuzz with speculation and conflicting opinions. The human has certainly stirred up a school of piranhas among the pod.
“Wait, wait you're saying Bluestreak, Bluestreak took a human as a mate!?” Brainstorm was more shocked than anything,  it wasn’t what he was expecting to hear.
“Yes!, the human who is currently Bumblebee's adopted carrier” Jazz confirms before even more questions are thrown at the other mers.
"Optimus, is it true that humans have taken Bumblebee as their own? And that they've been caring for our pod during the colder seasons?" Optimus nods, "Yes, Chromia. Humans have been a blessing to us all. They nursed Bumblebee back to health when he was gravely ill, and have provided food and shelter when the tides were unkind."
Ratchet grumbles as he attends to a youngling's wound. "Hmph. Normally I'd be suspicious of a human meddling in our affairs. But the ones here have earned our trust,  and I doubt anyone wants to argue with Optimus or anyone else about it. They have cured our wounds, treated us for sickness and saved Bumblebee."
Ironhide rumbles in agreement. "The little one's lookin' healthy as a turbofin. And the pod's been well-fed, even through the lean cycles. Gotta hand it to the humans, they know how to take care of us."
Wheeljack's fins are a light curiosity. "Fascinating! I must learn more about their methods, their means of communication. This could open up all sorts of possibilities for our kind! Plus the fact that one has now mated with one of ours"
A loud call from on shore has Bumblebee looking up and calling out, he knows that voice too well. Bumblebee's head snaps up at the sound, his small frame wriggling with excitement. "Bubba!" he trills, darting out of Optimus's hold. The young pup darts towards the shore, his fins propelling him with surprising speed. Chromia watches with curiosity, her field pulsing with interest.
"Bubba? Is that the human caretaker Optimus has mentioned?" she asks, turning to windblade with a questioning trill. She nods with a smile, her fins flicking with a hint of delight. "It sure is, the little bug has taken a real shine to them, and I cant blame the pup, they are all he knew for a very long time. They nearly went Prowl the other day because  him arguing made Bumblebee cry"
Bluestreak perks up hearing their voice off the shore, his fins flaring eagerly. He starts to swim towards the shore, only to be stopped by a stern look from Prowl. "Bluestreak, you will stay here. Your actions have already caused enough disruption, they are here for Bumblebee not you" Prowl rumbles, his field radiating paternal disapproval.
Megatron chuckles, his deep voice rumbling through the water as he watches the younger mer shrink at being scolded, at least this time Prowl was being civil, the best he could be. " Let the youngling be." Prowl's lip plates peel back in a reluctant snarl, but he concedes, watching as Bluestreak darts towards the shore, eager to catch a glimpse of the human.
The various Oceanides continue to observe, a mix of curiosity, protectiveness, and no small amount of speculation. Some even follow behind but not getting too close to the shore, they don't want to interrupt. Laughter escapes them as Bumblebee launches himself at the human, basically tackling them into the shallows, both of them landing in the water with the pup sat atop their chest as he eagerly chatters to them in his mix of broken words.
" Yes, hello baby, my God you're cuddly today" they laugh. Pressing soft kisses to his forehead, the young pup's webbed paws clutching at their wetsuit. The Oceanides watch from the water, their frills and fins flickering with interest as the human and their youngling interact. Bumblebee chatters excitedly, his broken words a mix of Oceanide and the human tongue. "Bubba! Bubba, missed you! So big now, see?" He wiggles in their embrace, showing off his sharp little teeth in excitement flashing a bright toothy smile.
They chuckles, gently running their fingers through Bumblebee's frills. "I can see, look at those pearly whites." Bluestreak swims closer. He trills a soft greeting, his eyes fixed on the human. He doesn't want to interrupt Bumblebee's time with the soft one but he is happy to see them again.
They look up, catching sight of the approaching Oceanid. They offer him a small smile, their hand gently stroking Bumblebee's back in a soothing gesture. “ Hello Angelfish,  you're not getting yourself into trouble again are you?” It earns a huff little noise from him.
The other Oceanides watch the interaction with varying degrees of curiosity and unease. Prowl's fins are still flared, his field laced with disapproval, while Megatron rumbles a low, possessive note. And it makes most of the new arrivals realise that more than half of the pods that stayed back were rather protective if not possessive of this fleshy.
Optimus drifts closer, He trills softly, drawing the human's attention, and gestures towards the slightly deeper water, as if inviting them to join the pod. The human's gaze moves between the Oceanides, their expression uncertain but intrigued. Bumblebee clings to them, his chirps and trills a mix of joy and contentment trying to tug them further into the water.
"Bubba, stopped fighting!" he chirps, his broken words a mix of Oceanide and human speech. "Blu happy to see you." The young pup nuzzles against the human's side, webbed paws gently caressing their arm.
Bluestreak drifts closer, a soft purr leaving him as he floats around them just happy to be close. He warbles softly, his tone a soothing melody as he conveys his affection and gratitude to them.
They chuckle, amused by the Oceanides' behavior. " you lot finally stopped fighting huh, good dont need you all upsetting baby" they hum, their tone light and playful as they continue to play with Bumblebee’s frills.
Bumblebee chirps excitedly, his small frame wriggling in the human's embrace. "Papa! Papa is there, Bubba!" He points a webbed paw towards the towering Oceanid.
Optimus swims closer, a low rumble leaving him as he makes his presence known. He trills a gentle greeting, his gaze softening as he locks eyes with the human. “helo” his voice is rather scratchy but it bright a smile to their face.
"Hello, Big blue. I'm glad to see you and the others have finally settled down. I was worried there for a bit." They explained but in all honesty they were just happy that there were no more fights.
Bumblebee chatters away in his mixed language, eagerly translating best the little one can for Optimus. The large Oceanid rumbles in response, he's content, happy that his pup is happy, even if a small part of himself wishes he had been the one to claim them, he knew that Bluestreak was right, he had been distancing himself from them due to the season. Even now their sweet scent of them was tempting but he knew better.
Prowl drifts closer, his fins still slightly flared. He clicks and warbles, his tone laced with a hint of frustration. Optimus raises a webbed hand, silencing Prowl with a firm look. He turns back to the human, his field radiating gratitude. He trills a soft response, his movements slow and measured but he doesn't stay at their side for long before drifting back into the deeper water, continuing to catch up with other mers.
Bumblebee beams in delight. "Papa, happy you're here, Bubba." They are snuggling bumblebee. "That's good baby, he's not avoiding me now" They coo softly to bumblebee. Bumblebee chirps happily, rhythmic waves of the waves seem to make everything feel unreal as he snuggles closer to them. He tilts his head curiously at their words.
"Bubba... Papa?" he babbles, his small fins fluttering as he tries to piece together what he wants to say. "Papa big. Papa... there!" He gestures vaguely toward the deeper water where Optimus watches, his massive frame drifting on the gentle waves in the distance.
a warm smile graces their lips, brushing a hand over Bumblebee's head frills. "That's my clever boy," they coo softly, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Who's that there?" They ask while pointing at Bluestreak and then Megatron followed by a few other mers.
Nearby, the other Oceanides continue watching the interaction with intense curiosity. Chromia swims a little closer. "They speak so gently to the pup," she murmurs to Kup, her fins flicking thoughtfully. "It's fascinating... the bond they share. I'm so glad he made it, everyone was so worried about the little pup"
Kup grumbles, though his tone is less defensive now. "Aye, I'll admit it. They're good with the little one. But it's still strange, them bein' here, part of all this."
"Papa!" Bumblebee cries, wiggling out of the human's arms to paddle toward Optimus. The little pup chirps excitedly, trying to relay what the human said. "Papa! Bubba... talk! Bubba talk you!" Optimus rumbles warmly, scooping Bumblebee up and giving the human an approving nod. His deep, resonant voice carries a sense of gratitude and calm as he gestures for the human to come closer.
As they speak, the other Oceanides linger nearby, and quietly chatter. Bluestreak, still buzzing with excitement, is surrounded by a small group of mers who pepper him with questions.
"How did it happen?" Sunstorm asks, his fins flicking with interest, the gold flyer watches with bright eyes rather fascinated over the fleshy and the pup. "I mean, how did you choose them? Or did they choose you?"
Bluestreak flutters at the question. "It just...happened, they are very sweet, were rather reluctant due to our differences but they seem happy" he exclaims, his tone almost giddy.
Chromia tilts her head, her fins twitching curiously. "But...a flesh one? Aren’t they fragile? How do they even understand you?"
Bluestreak chuckles nervously, his fins fluttering. "Well, uh, they were teaching Rodimus, sideswipe, sunstreaker and myself.  A Lot of it is hand gestures, their language isnt hard to understand, just very hard to replicate due to our vocals. Bumblebee seems to do better with it due to him being a pup. And, uh, we’re figuring it out, you know? They’re...different. But it's a good different."
Kup grumbles from the side, his fins flicking in skepticism. "Hmph. Different is one thing. Mating with a human is somethin’ else entirely. Don’t you think you’re rushin’ into this, kid?. Why a human of all things?”
Blurr wipes closer to watch for a moment. “Yea why a squishy of all thinks I doubt you would even fit with them” he states with a tilted head only to get slapped by Chromia.
Bluestreak bristles slightly but doesn’t lose his enthusiasm. "It’s not about rushing, Kup. It’s about..They’re part of the pod now, and we had a theory over them. And they seem rather happy to help us, and well mating with one has helped cross some other bridges. But the other issues is our pods have been having fertility issues or not been able to carry and humans don't seem to struggle as much as us"
Nearby, Wheeljack’s fins vibrate with excitement, his field practically crackling with scientific curiosity. "So, how does it work?" he asks, his voice tinged with genuine intrigue. "The communication, the bonding—what’s it like? Have you learned anything new from them? This could be groundbreaking for relations!"
From a distance, Megatron watches the scene unfold, his imposing frame partially concealed by the shadows of the deeper water. His optics narrow slightly as he observes the human, his field carefully guarded but unmistakably focused on both them and Bumblebee. Despite his usual air of menace, there is something protective in the way he keeps his gaze fixed on them.
He didn't want to disturb them despite how his scales felt at the moment, he knows if he holds off on seeking care again he will be sedated to check his injuries. Less he gets put in isolation for the season due to his own stupidity. but for now he'd rather just rest and watch them with the pup.
As Bumblebee chirps happily, splashing water in their direction, and Bluestreak beams under the weight of so many curious questions, the pod begins to settle into a new rhythm. Tomorrow he decides. Tomorrow he will go to the large building, and hope they could help fix the gashes and the burning from the rogue shark that had attacked him. It had made a decent meal but he can feel teeth still in his side.

Mer jazzsound and construtiprowl
Jazz is courting the local milf of that reef, and it's working
The polycule need a bit more time with their milf, but he is becoming more and more comfortable with the courtship and gifts
Oooh yeah I'm here for that! Jazz trying to show that he can be good not just to Soundwave, but his gaggle of guppies as well 🥺 Soundwave is entertaining the idea but has not decided which way he wants to go. He may let Jazz fertilize his eggs next season regardless
And Prowl is extremely prickly and venomous, keeps the constructicons from touching him with a layer of toxic secretions like a second layer of paint. He jealously guards Springer, his only guppy, and routinely chases the structies away from his nesting cove. They're not deterred 🤭

Sound of Music Tarn x Reader
Who knew one somewhat underhanded comment towards your manager would get you killed?
You sure didn’t when you made the comment! Now stalking down the low lit hallways in a purple, khaki t-shirt. A staple of the work uniform in this marine center, specifically those working with the dangerous fish hosted here for recovery.
Yeah, death was knocking on the door and you weren’t ready to go.
Huffing, you reach up to fiddle with the headphones around your neck, the pressure from it the only thing grounding you in this place at the moment. And the urge to put them on becomes stronger yet as you pass a group of co-workers all dressed in red t-shirts instead. They cast you a glance, eyes widening before darting their gazes away again. No words spoken, but the air suddenly feels heavy with pity.
Further in you go, practically sprinting to get out of sight. Taking corners faster than necessary, until finally you reach the split path that leads to the mers held deeper in this place. Yeah, normal fish weren’t the only ones being kept, but straight up creatures of myths. And half of them would take off a hand just for sport.
Each side looks the same in appearance, but the tiles are where they differ. One, the right path, goes from the deep blue of the normal marine center’s path to a soothing red. The sign of the kinder mers, the ones that can actually be interacted without fear of sudden ill intent. The other path, the one you have now been reassigned to, goes to a foreboding purple, darkening the hallway beyond.
You take the purple path, sucking in a breath as the space constricts around you. This space was not built for comfort, instead to warn or scare away any that weren’t forced to work down this wing.
Doors start to line the walls, each with name plates and the mers nicknames on display in neat golden script. Megatron, Soundwave, Shockwave, Starscream, you continue past each door without pause. None of them the ones you were assigned too.
It takes a while, having to go down another length of a hall that spindles off the main shoot of purple-code mers. These doors are also marked with red, the color vibrant and closer to that of blood than the red from before. The engravings have scratched off paint where nails have dug in, both human and non-human intermingling.
The names pass by, Overlord, Galvatron, and even more that you begin to ignore. Thoughts flying to when co-workers would whisper about the newest injury from these fearsome beasts.
“They’re killers! I swear it!”
“Did you know they leave the dead in there with them? Management thinks it keeps them sated for when the professionals enter.”
“I heard the last person assigned there lost an arm.”
You shake your head as you stop before a door. This one no different from the others but important to you. The new mer assigned to you just beyond. Tarn, the nameplate reads. And he has the worst track record among the ones stationed here.
Blood thirsty, constantly breaking out of the room and tank, always looking for the latest victim. And now your job to clean his tank, feed him, and make sure he’s properly enriched.
“Let’s get this over with.” You mutter under your breath. Bringing up your headphones, you click open your phone and begin to play the instrumental melody that will lead to your death.
Violins sing away as you swing the door open, a trumpet almost making you jump as you sweep a glance over the still water inside. The tank is oddly empty of an eager predator ready to kill, not even a ripple.
Maybe the mer doesn’t know you’re here. All the better to work fast and get out even faster.
Biting at your lip, you step in, looking along the wall for any of the cleaning supplies that your manager swore would be there, ready for use. A mop, a bucket, and an unlabeled bottle of cleaner is all you catch sight of, and it’s thrown to the ground in a rush.
You sigh, but head deeper in, the rise of tubas following you as the heavily padded door slams shut. Grabbing the mop after filling the bucket to the point suds are sloshing out the side, you get to work.
There’s a surprising lack of stains around the tank, nothing that outwardly hints at what has gone down in this room in the past. Only dried stains that are more brown than red and could have been anything at the point of spill.
You turn the music up, blasting the return of the violins into your ears. It’s at the same time you see movement at the corner of your eye.
Turning fast, you face the tank where you thought the movement came from, nothing. Sweat starts to pucker your forehead, and the hairs on the back of your neck start to stand up. A warning, or maybe a feeling, of being watched invade.
You turn away, dunking the mop in the bucket.
A splash cuts through the music.
You whirl around and freeze.
This time, a fin has broken through the water. It bobs on the surface, taunting and horrifying as you realize Tarn knows you’re here. You can’t leave though, even if the prey brain in you is beginning to awaken and wants to run as far as they can from the room and whatever is lurking below the waves.
Work fast, get out faster.
Stiff limbed, you switch to a crab sort of walk. A way to keep your face to the water and mopping the place without getting caught. It doesn’t matter though as the fin begins to move, closing in on the lip of the tank.
You suddenly hate the crescendo in your ears from the music.
Just as it reaches the peak, all hell breaks loose. An explosion of water, a huge figure beaching itself inches from your face. A scream at the tip of your tongue, but it never leaves as red eyes meet your own.
Tarn.
There’s a crooning, deep and full-body that comes from the creature. It backs off, and as it does you catch sight of it more than just the eyes. Bulky shoulders, scars criss-crossing the body all the way down to the tail, purple and black scales, and the claws at the tips of its webbed fingers.
Another croon has you looking back to the red eyes, which you notice are behind a strange, watery mask of some sort. They blink, you follow, heart pounding away in your chest.
Then a hand lifts, one claw stretching out.
This is it, death on one finger.
Instead there is another call, this one a coo of sorts followed by a click. It touches your headphones.
“Huh?” Is all you can think, and apparently squeak out.
Another coo. Another poke to the head.
Reaching up, you pop off the headphones, mop dropping to the ground. “My headphones?” Music is still blasting away, a lull of soft instruments. “Or, uh, the music?”
Tarn nods, red eyes squinting in what you think is joy.
An idea hits, and you rush to turn off your headphones. The drop of music does seem to startle the mer, who starts to growl at you and as you rush for the phone in your pocket you call out, “Give me a minute!”
Swiping up, you hit play in a rush, turning the noise all the way up. Instruments hit the air in a rush, their pattern swirling and calming if not for the fact a dangerous mer is standing before you.
But that still seems to be enough, as he begins to sway, lowering himself to lay out on the deck with a coo. And suddenly you think there may be a way through this assignment. As long as he continues to enjoy the music that is.
